The Young and the Restless

Y&R’s Michael Damian Producing New Netflix Romcom Starring B&B’s Pierson Fodé!

Calling all Hallmark movie lovers and soap opera fans! There’s a new romcom coming to Netflix, and it has some exciting connections to the daytime world!

Production is underway in Vancouver, Canada for “The Wrong Paris,” a new Netflix romcom starring Miranda Cosgrove (from the streamer’s summer hit “Mother of The Bride”) and Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful”).

The film is being produced by none other than Michael Damian, who plays Danny on “The Young and the Restless,” and directed by his wife, Janeen Damian!

Small-Town Girl, Big-City Dreams

The movie follows Cosgrove’s character, Dawn, a small-town Texas girl with big dreams of attending art school in Paris. Desperate to earn cash fast, Dawn auditions for a dating show set in the City of Lights – only to discover the producers have relocated the show to Paris, Texas (yes, that’s a real place!) in a ratings ploy.

Stuck just 30 minutes from her hometown as a contestant on a reality show, Dawn plots her escape. But her plans are thrown into disarray when she finds herself falling for the show’s charming bachelor, Trey, played by Pierson Fodé.

A Blast from the Past

Here’s a fun fact for fans of both actors: This isn’t Fodé and Cosgrove’s first time working together! Back in 2012, Fodé guest-starred in a Halloween episode of Cosgrove’s Nickelodeon sitcom “iCarly” – talk about a reunion! (Check out their adorable throwback photo below!)

A Powerhouse Couple Behind the Scenes

Michael Damian and his wife, Janeen, are a force to be reckoned with in the world of made-for-TV movies. The couple has collaborated on numerous Christmas-themed films, including last year’s “A Paris Christmas Waltz” on Great American Family, which starred former soap stars Jen Lilley and Matthew Morrison. Michael Damian even contributed music to the film’s soundtrack!

Their latest project, “Irish Wish,” also for Netflix, was a massive success, holding the No. 1 spot in 69 countries on its premiere weekend. Janeen directed and executive produced the film, while Michael served as a producer and contributed to the soundtrack.
