Michelle Stafford leaves the Young & Restless officially!

Casting shakeups in the soapverse are not a thing of surprise. And, The Young And The Restless is no different. With an evergrowing vast cast, it is a given that some characters will keep coming and going every now and then. Fans too, have become accustomed to it over the years, and mostly remain unfazed by these ins and outs.

However, when a much-loved mainstay is at risk of falling off the canvas, things change drastically. And that’s exactly what’s happening with Y&R. Soap star, Michelle Stafford, who recently lifted the rather coveted Daytime Emmy trophy has been absent from the CBS soap for far too long now.

Moreover, with the casting shakeup news coming in, fans have become a bit worried. The effects of the said shakeup have already started to take effect. We recently reported that actress Brytni Sarpy was let go in an all hush-hush manner. Meanwhile, actor Conner Floyd was dropped to recurring status.

Now, news is coming in that actor Christopher Cousins will not be returning to the soap. For the unversed, he just winded up his act as the twins – Alan and Martin Laurent. With all these changes, fans are creating a furie on social media, asking the makers to reveal what Michelle Stafford’s status on Y&R is. They don’t want to lose Phyllis Summer just yet, or ever!

Unfortunately, till now, neither the actress nor the makers have responded to the fan-questions. So we can’t say anything for certain. Yet, we have a feeling that Michelle is perhaps just taking some time off and will return to the screen soo enough. After all, The Young And The Restless will lose a lot of charm without resident Red!
